‘Better Sourcing Design’ explores how good design impacts all areas of advanced sourcing - whether it’s accurate RFPs, an efficient supply chain, recyclable packaging or the usability of your IT systems. 


Taking place over two days, the conference features expert speakers and provides excellent networking opportunities with fellow top level sourcing professionals.


The workshop on the second day is designed for current and future TESS users and focuses on sharing best practice ‘Tips & Tricks’ when using the TESS platform.


The conference and workshop are taking place in central Stockholm, Sweden’s vibrant capital city, and the venue for the conference dinner is one of the city's most famous attractions, the world renowned Vasa Museum.

Strategic Sourcing Advisor & Writer, Magnus Carlsson
Magnus has 30 years’ experience in strategic sourcing including 25 years working for IKEA where he was responsible for developing and implementing IKEA’s purchasing strategy. 

His book Strategic Sourcing and Category Management: Lessons Learned at IKEA, was published in 2015 and is becoming essential reading for all sourcing practitioners.

Accenture - Armin Scharlach
Armin is a Managing Partner at Accenture with close to 20 years of consulting experience, most of which in e-Procurement, e-Marketplace and e-Sourcing positions.  He has extensive market knowledge of sourcing tools having worked with, evaluated and implemented numerous procurement solutions using SAP and Ariba, Emptoris, Bravo Solutions, CombineNet and Trade Extensions. More recently, he has expanded his expertise into wider areas of "heavy analytics" outside of procurement and has become an expert in Network Modeling, Total Value Contribution Optimization and Predictive Modeling. 

 

Tetra Pak - Jonas Eklund
Jonas, is a graphic designer at Tetra Pak Nordics. In 2003 he co-authored the book 'Communication with the package' explaining how to use packaging effectively in marketing and brand building.  He has worked at Tetra Pak since 1999 has held his current role since 2009 designing product concepts in carton packages for customers in the Nordics and UK/Ireland.

SKF - Peter Smedberg
Peter is Global Category Manager / Sourcing project leader Global Transportation Tender at SKF Group.  He has extensive sourcing and supply chain expertise and prior to current role at SKF, Peter worked with IKEA and Deloitte.

 

Virtualstock - Rob Knott
Rob is Director of Healthcare and Public Sector at supply chain technology company Virtualstock.  He is specialist in the strategic leadership of commercial and procurement management and prior to joining Virtualstock, Rob was National Director, NHS Procurement at the UK Department of Health.

Ocean Observations - Sofia Svantesson
Sofia is an entrepreneur and design strategist with a background in human computer interaction.  She is the founder of design agency Ocean Observations and since 2013, she has been a member of the expert group supporting the Swedish government’s Committee for Digitisation.

 

Spend Matters - Peter Smith
Peter Smith is Managing Editor of Spend Matters Europe - Europe's leading procurement and supply chain website. He is a well-known professional leader with considerable expertise and experience in public and private sector procurement-performance improvement. A Fellow and past president of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, he has written and spoken widely about procurement issues.

The conference dinner takes place at the Vasa Museum – the world famous museum housing a 17th Century Royal Warship that sank on its maiden voyage and was recovered from Stockholm harbour in the 1960s.

The venue alone will ensure a truly memorable evening but it also an opportunity to establish contacts with other senior sourcing professionals in a more informal environment.

Featuring case studies from advanced TESS users, the workshop will give practical advice on how you can exploit fully the power and flexibility of the TESS platform.

Accenture, Managing Partner, Armin Scharlach, an experienced user of sourcing tools and expert in 'heavy analytics', will also be giving a presentation on 'Collaborative Commerce' and how to best use sourcing tools like TESS to master today's business challenges.

The workshop will also include details on the latest TESS developments and demonstrate how design and usability is at the heart of the latest TESS platform and will change fundamentally the way organisations use advance sourcing platforms.
