The case
A major chemicals company was to renegotiate its MRO catalogue consisting of over 7,000 items representing a value of approximately 3 million Euro.
The approach
After careful analysis, representative commodities were divided into some 15 groups, forming the basis for the negotiation.
Some 25 suppliers were invited and qualified in an on-line process. 5 of these were invited to participate in an on-line negotiation process.
The result
The event identified a saving of 20% and the number of suppliers was reduced to 2.
The process was considered convinient and efficient.
