Working with Trade Extensions and its eSourcing and optimisation platform, TESS™, Tetra Laval’s Group Transport & Travel team win the ‘Operational Excellence’ category in Tetra Pak’s annual ‘Excellence Awards Programme’.
The ‘Excellence Awards Programme’ recognises exceptional teams and individuals across Tetra Pak and the ‘Operational Excellence Award’ rewards systematic and long-term improvements to its ways of working.
The Group Transport & Travel team secured the award for implementing an eSourcing solution and taking a significant step towards achieving Tetra Pak’s strategic goal of ‘professionalising purchasing’ by automating the process for receiving, analysing and evaluating tenders from logistics suppliers.
Group Transport & Travel implemented TESS to meet its eSourcing objectives and the platform is already delivering measurable improvements in quality and efficiency in sourcing and contracting for centrally negotiated spend, as well as enabling Tetra Laval to make significant savings on transport costs in the first year.
Tetra Laval, Director Group Transport & Travel, Robert Ingvarsson said, “TESS has provided greater transparency and the ability to explore ‘what if’ scenarios. In an increasingly complex supplier market, it makes decision-making both quicker and more robust.”
Trade Extensions, CEO, Garry Mansell, said, “We are delighted that Robert and his team won the Operational Excellence Award and it shows how TESS can become part of day-to-day operations when it is used to meet organisations’ broader strategic objectives.”
